Superdigital was created in 2012 as ContaSuper, a prepaid card focused on high turnover bill payroll. In 2017 it was acquired by Santander Group, an international financial institution founded in Spain and the third largest private bank in Brazil. Since then, it has expanded to cover many banking services as a digital account all across Latin America, with over 1.9 million open accounts and 70 million transactions made worldwide.
I worked with a multidisciplinary team to establish a new banking platform for Superdigital, conducting research, testing, and prototyping. I also maintained the platform's brand and design system for a group of +20 designers and developers, working closely with each team for updates, documentation, and implementation.
A good foundation.
Before the designers could work on the website and banking platform, we had to have a good foundation. This was secured by creating a design system encompassing all digital products and services that Superdigital offers, including websites, apps, and everything between. This design system covers everything someone has to know before working with the Superdigital brand, from the writing rules to the appropriate timing of all animations.
Working together with the team, I created and maintained a Design system with more than 40 components and 150 icons. Besides regularly updating typography and colors as the product grew and new necessities came forward.
The website.
Superdigital aim's to target people that have not used or don't want to have a digital account, be it from bad experiences in the past to mistrust. With this in mind, we created a friendly and informative experience to welcome the user to discover all that Superdigital could offer them.
The Banking platform.
Considering the target audience and the many options Superdigital offers, both the mobile and desktop versions of the platform had to be as straightforward and transparent as possible. The use of a common vocabulary and tutorials, along with the design system keeping the interactions and visuals in line with the products that the user had already come in contact with, was essential.
